| The Rapids on The Naknak River Bristol Bay Alaska.....home to the BEST Rainbow fishing in Alaska,maybe the world ! I made my first trip to Alaska,in 2009,where I co-hosted a trip with friends and clients. We stayed at Naknak River Camp,in King Salmon,AK. I was not that interested in the trout fishing on the "NAK",at the time due to the excellent Silver Salmon fishing,going on that August at the lodge.I fished for Silvers 4 days that trip,Artic Char fishing,1 day and a trip to Brooks River. I new some of the other guest at the lodge,had been catching some Huge rainbows on the river,but I just did not ho;d that much of an interest in them,but that all changed,upon my return to Naknak River Camp in August of 2010. Again in 2010 ,I hosted a trip to Naknek River Camp,and I got hooked on these Monster Rainbows,my last day in camp,as I land 3 fish in the 27" to 29" range,and my friends land several more big rainbows,that day. 2011 ,another hosted trip with clients & i needed more,as the great fishing continued, By 2014 I had began to guide full time in Bristol Bay,I spent the first 10 weeks of the year on the Alagnak River,not to far north of The Nak,and the Rainbow fish was good there also. Must of my guiding was done in walk,boat,drive,or fly in trips,for to Brooks Falls or several of the other streams in the area.I saw several pictures of Good Naknak Rainbows from all the clients and guides. BIG Rainbows of the Nak 2015 I spent the whole summer of 2015 guiding at Naknak River Camp,and take a look at the fish. I took many of the pictures,but several of the guides sent me some pixs,and trust me ,there where a lot more Biggie Bows caught, than I have pixs for,in both 2014 and 2015 ! |
